Ephesians 2:20 “For we are His workmanship, Created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath ordained that we should walk in them.”

The Church’s Discipleship Ministry is a multi-faceted ongoing effort to encourage and support Christian growth for members and all individuals that will respond to the program offerings. The Ministry supports the Sunday School Program and other ministries of the Church, especially in helping “equip” the “saints”! In addition to regular activities, other Christian growth opportunities are sponsored through the Sunday School in conjunction with Discipleship Ministry.

The Ministry is especially designed to meet the needs of those participating in the life of the Church. Multiple strategies are implemented to provide access to quality experiences for believers…always with an eye toward opportunities to share Jesus with the lost.

“Jack’s Coffee Shack” is open for many Discipleship Ministry Activities and is an outreach strategy for fellowship and impromptu Christian discussions.

Multiple opportunities are provided each year for “church-wide” Discipleship Ministry Bible Studies. Typically, the sessions are held on Thursday evenings with 20 – 30 participants each session. The SBC January/Winter Bible Studies are included in this series of studies. Topics of recent studies have been “The Book of Revelation”, Parables of Jesus, “Bible Study for Revival”, Ecclesiastes, and “The Holy Bible – The Basis of Our Beliefs”.

Small groups are encouraged and some studies offered in this format have included Sunday evening studies on “The Revelation”, a women’s study on the Book of Ruth, and several Beth Moore studies have been offered for ladies in the home of one of the leaders.

The Ministry includes a Teen Ministry that meets each Wednesday evening, with additional special events held regularly. We are blessed to have a “gifted” leader that relates well with the teens. It is not unusual for the Church to be blessed with a special program presented by the Teen Group and the Church always looks forward to the events. The Christ’s Crusaders is the Children’s Discipleship Ministry that is scheduled to meet on Wednesday evenings.

First Baptist of Carrabelle has an outstanding Church (Media) Library that is a great resource that is promoted through Discipleship Ministry. Individual studies utilizing the library are encouraged. Some studies have resulted in “Projects” that are placed in the library for others to use in their studies. Special books, some on loan from members, are displayed and promoted for individual reading.

Discipleship Bible Studies and events are promoted internally through the Church Bulletin, Power-Point Announcements, and Pulpit Announcements. Word of mouth communications regarding the studies are encouraged and effective. Special Banquets and fellowships of Celebrations are held, including the presentation of certificates for the completion of the courses.

Please consider joining the exciting activities offered through the Discipleship Ministry of First Baptist Church of Carrabelle!
